Vince Neil Scheck 1966-2008
We are gathered here today to pay our respects to our relative, co-worker and dearfriend Vince Scheck. This is not a day of mourning but a day for remembering and rejoicing in all of the pleasant memories that Vince left behind.
Vincent Neil Scheck was born on April 19, 1966 in Dawson Creek, British Columbia to Phyllis and Ray Scheck. He passed away on July 27, 2008 in Rock Creek, British Columbia.
Vince leaves to mourn his sister Fran (Len) Field, children Christina (J.P.), Lisa (Darcy) and Erik (Celina), sister Jacquie (Elden) Veiner and their children Warren, Rachel and Keri-Lynne (Jon) and brother Dan (Lorrie) and her children Tyler, Michele and Amanda and six great-nephews: Nicholas, Sasha, Joseph, Riley, Samuel and Lukas.
Predeceased by mother Phyllis, 1996, father Ray in 1979 and brother Gordie in 1979.
Vince were very involved in the Dawson Canucks senior men’s hockey team, assisting on a daily basis wherever he was needed. He continued with this for a number of years when the junior team came back to town after a hiatus. Upon the arrival of the Junior Canuck team, Vince jumped at the chance to help in this new endeavor, putting both feet in. He started out as the equipment manager and added the title of trainer to his repertoire. He was known to take players who were new in town under his wing, and help them integrate into the team and the community. His dedication and passion for the team was second to none, as anyone who knew Vince would know.
Vince was involved in coaching t-ball for 4 years and played slow pitch for a couple of years and also played soccer for the media team. This goes to show you that Vince was very active in community sports and a dedicated team player.
Vince was compassionate about his love of family and relatives. It was very apparent that he loved his family. He was a dedicated, honest, trustworthy, caring and compassionate person and for that we will miss him dearly.
A memorial Service was held on August 1, 2008 at the Bergeron Funeral Chapel, Dawson Creek, British Columbia, officiated by Peggy Bergeron. Vince’s urn was inurned into his father’s grave in the Dawson Creek City Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made in memory of Vince by way of a donation to the ‘Vince Scheck Memorial Fund’ c/o The Dawson Creek Junior Canucks, Box 2451 Dawson Creek, BC V1G 4T9.
