Isobel Jean Cornish (nee Hood)
1912 ~ 2011

Isobel went to be with her Lord and Saviour at age 98 in
Fort St John, BC where she was living with her daughter.
Isobel was born on October 28, 1912 in Alberta and raised on the farm. After high school, she attended Normal School in Edmonton and taught for many years throughout rural Alberta. She was married to Herb in Winnipeg during the war and they raised their family in Edmonton before retiring to their idyllic acreage in Stepping Stone Estates in Vernon, BC. They and their children and grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed 25 years at their retirement project. Isobel and Herb were very involved in their neighborhood and their church
First Baptist in Vernon.
Isobel was pre-deceased by her loving husband Herb in 1993 and is survived by brothers Merrick (Vera) and Jim and sisters Helen Leveridge and Shirley Collings, her daughter Carolyn (Don) Irwin, sons Bob (Ginny) and Don, Grandchildren Aja, Jake (Celine), Elyse, Mallory Cornish and Sean (Serena), Christy, Michael, Scott Irwin and great grandchildren Arrielle, Cameron, Cadon, Carson Irwin, Taya VanDyke and Mia Cornish. She is also survived by many extended family members.

A celebration of Isobel’s life will be held at the Vernon Lodge / Best Western Hotel in Vernon, BC on Sunday July 24, 2011 at 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the North Peace Care Society at 9907 110 Ave Fort St John, BC V1J 2S9.
