Eileen Ann Burden
1960 ~ 2011
Eileen was born on December 1st, 1960 to Gordon and Elizabeth Smith. She was a real fighter from being a pre-mature baby right to the end.
Eileen was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife and friend and she will be missed by a lot of people.
If she was here she would say, quit your tears, and live life to the fullest. That’s exactly what she did. She was a strong willed determined lady, with a jovial sense of humor, loved the Lord and had a smile for everyone.
This summer, Eileen had the chance to work at C.J.D.C. Radio, operating the board for the Chuckwagon Races, and she enjoyed that so much. Steve got to train her and he enjoyed that because for the only time in their 21 year marriage, he was able to tell his wife what to do! That worked out great until they got home and then his sucking up went into high gear.
Eileen and Steve both had a passion for motorcycle riding and rode whenever they had a chance to do so.
They have no children, and instead they sponsor two children through Compassion Canada which they’ve done for about 18 years.
Eileen’s determination was evident in many ways. If someone told her that something couldn’t be done, she would look at them; go ‘huh”! and do it anyway.
Eileen also had her tough times, with Achilles surgery this January, a rib injury 3 months ago, and finally the illness which tragically took her from us on October 25th, 2011, at the University Hospital in Prince George.
Eileen was the love of Steve’s life, his soul-mate and the jewel in his crown. God’s speed Eileen, you will be missed.
A memorial service was held November 4, 2011 at Bergeron Funeral Chapel, Dawson Creek.
